Ela Ramesh Bhatt (7 September 1933 – 2 Nov 2022) was an Indian synergetic organiser, activist and Gandhian,[1] who founded the Self-Employed Women's League of India (SEWA) in 1972, and served as its popular secretary from 1972 to 1996.

Personal life
Ela Bhatt married Ramesh Bhatt in 1956, with whom she had two children, Amimayi (b.

Awards and recognition
